Working Together
The decision to begin therapy may come when we are in a state of crisis, when we recognize that the ways we used to cope are no longer working or serving us or when we recognize that we do better with consistent support and a place to process what we are experiencing. Regardless of what brings you here, it takes courage to reach out to a stranger for support and to honor that impulse for healing and change.
We will start with a free, 15 minute phone call where I can understand what is bringing you to therapy and what you are looking for. From there, if it feels appropriate we will schedule a session. The best way to determine if a therapist is a good fit is to have a session or few. From there you will get a feel for how I work and I can determine if I’ll be able to provide what you need. My wish is for you to find a therapist that best suits your needs, whether it is me or someone else.
I require weekly appointments because the consistency allows for the therapeutic work to be effective. We may eventually decrease to every other week as you find yourself feeling ready to end our work together. Most of my clients continue coming for two or more years. Some people engage with EMDR for a shorter period of time when we are processing a specific trauma. Either way, the goal is for you to eventually leave therapy feeling stable and equipped to navigate your life and relationships. Together we will track the changes in you and where you are at in your therapy process.
I offer in-person and virtual appointments. I do not accept insurance. My fee is $265 per 50 minute session. My sliding scale appointments are currently taken and unavailable at this time. If you are interested in working with someone I train who offers a lower fee, please visit Highland Park Holistic Psychotherapy to schedule a consult call with our care coordinator.
